Shopify Markets - Sell Internationally, fast!

As a business you have two main options for expansion - vertical and horizontal.

Vertical expansion refers to creating new products to make to take to your existing markets. Horizontal expansion involves taking your existing products to new markets. This can be a very profitable route to growth as generally the investment required is a lot less that that associated with new products R&D - especially with Shopify Markets as a tool in your armoury.

Shopify Markets is the easiest way to manage internationalisation fast and efficiently without the need for Shopify Plus.

All in one

Shopify Markets allow you to manage different territories and sell internationally all from one store - no need for expansion sites. This means that all your reporting and analytics will all be in one place - a headache solved for any marketing manager whop wants to be able to assess the performance of the different territories.

With you for the journey

Shopify markets is automatically added when you create your Shopify store but it will remain inactive until you choose to activate markets. This means that there will be no surprise increases in your invoice from Shopify as it is already included, the only things that does differ are the transaction fees.

Shopify Markets can easily be activated when the time is right for you to start selling internationally. You can add two apps - Adapt & Translate and Geolocator to improve the customer experience and based on your marketing strategy we can also make changes to the store front of the international market sites to reflect any cultural and societal differences.

Personalised but not complicated

Markets allows multiple domains, languages, taxes, currency and pricing options - as well as allowing customers to checkout in their own currency (providing you are using Shopify Payments).

We know that 40% of customers won't consider buying from a website that isn't in their native language so these features from Shopify markets are crucial in capturing your new overseas consumers.

You can create segments to included individual countries, regions or group of countries which will all have the same settings applied. You can customise the storefront and product catalogue but still have all the reporting in one place.

Markets Pro

Shopify Markets Pro was released in Q3 2022 and gives some additional risk and fraud protection and cheaper shipping rates. However this has not yet been released for merchants based in the UK.
